Suzanne started Rooland with one mission in mind — to eliminate excessive packaging waste. Her passion for sustainable packaging stems from an intimate knowledge of the packaging industry and a deeply rooted ambition for living a sustainable lifestyle.
She is passionate about the intersection of sustainability and innovative design thinking. Suzanne firmly believes that sustainability does not need to come at the expense of great design.
She will showcase different sustainable materials and techniques to enhance your packaging and become greener whilst keeping your branding strong and unique. She has been working with bagasse and mushroom material to create special inserts to hold products, and she will show you how you can use corrugated material to your advantage.
Suzanne is an award-winning designer and art director with a Bachelor’s in package design from Art Centre College of Design. She has contributed creative direction to some of the largest Fortune 500 companies, such as Starbucks Coffee Company, Nordstroms, Nike, Jamba Juice, General Electric, Max Factor, Revlon, and K2 Corporation; in addition to contributing to non-profit organisations such as Canopy, Archipelago & Marine Mammals of California.

Suzanne founded Rooland & RooCreate with the idea of a worldwide eco-packaging platform available to everyone. She believes making a bold branding statement doesn’t have to be expensive or harmful to the environment. In fact, by maintaining simple green practices such as reducing the use of petroleum-based inks, using chlorine-free and recycled materials, and sourcing like-minded suppliers that offer environmentally friendly methods, businesses worldwide can engage in eco-friendly commerce as a critical part of creating branding materials. Her initiative to inspire companies to not only think green but to act on it is paving the way for a healthier, cleaner, greener earth.
