Faculty of Engineering Distinguished Lecture and Plenary Session: Hydrogen – systems, opportunities and challenges

During this talk we’ll look at the role of hydrogen in a future low carbon energy system and explore the value it can bring to the energy and industrial system of the future. The context will be a UK one but most of the insights will translate to other geographies. It will conclude with some opportunities for hydrogen research and development.
Nilay Shah is a Professor of Process Systems Engineering at Imperial College. He is interested in the use of models and process systems engineering techniques to understand and design low carbon energy and industrial systems. He is a member of the UK Govt’s Hydrogen Advisory Council and CTO of a synthetic fuels business.
