Carbon capture and utilisation – Hybrid Session

November 21, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Capture CO2 as feedstock to produce sustainable chemical and fuel are the most feasible and sustainable technologies for climate change caused by the industrialisation. Meanwhile, CO2 based fuels and chemicals will substitute fossil feedstock sources, and shift towards climate-friendly production and consumption. Main topics of the session are new and key progresses for the production of CO2-based transportation and aviation fuels, bulk and fine chemicals, building-blocks, as well as advanced technologies for CO2 utilisation such as artificial photosynthesis.

Keynote Speaker
Prof. Dr. Feng Jiao, Robert Grasselli Development Professor, the School of Chem & Biomolecular Eng., University of Delaware, USA; Topic: Power to X, sustainable CO2 conversion to fuels and chemicals.

Speaker
Dr. Rui Tang, Postdoc Fellowship, the School of Chem & Biomolecular Eng., the University of Sydney; Topic: artificial photosynthesis, solar-driven CO2 conversion.

Mr. Wenjie Yang, PhD candidate, the School of Chem & Biomolecular Eng., the University of Sydney; Topic: conversion of two green-house gases (CO2/CH4) to fuels via catalysis engineering.
