Waste Innovations for Circular Economy Transitions – Lessons from Mexico – Online Event

Moderated by the WTRH, this panel will include presenters from the Mexican Government and Industry sectors on how the push for a Circular Economy is gathering momentum in Mexico.

Zero Waste Action Plan towards a Circular Economy: Waste statistics in Mexico City, how to achieve a Zero-waste City, waste separation, organic waste management (composting, brushes, bio-digestion), inorganic waste management (separation plants, compaction, refuse-derived fuels), special waste management, environmental culture, Green Jobs and dignification of clean-up workers, Regulation, Circular Economy Law & Circular Economy strategies (the context of these last two topics is that the Mexican Senate recently passed a proposal for a Circular Economy Law, which is now being debated in the lower house).

How to promote the Circular Economy in companies? To answer this question, for six years at GESTÍCA (a Mexican start-up) we have dedicated ourselves to breaking down barriers between science and industry. In this talk, we will share a representative success story of the appliance industry in Mexico, the challenges, the lessons learned and the new paths to continue promoting the Circular Economy and sustainability.
