Opportunities and Challenges of Using Recycled materials in Roads and Pavements: a NSW Local Government Perspective

This panel is organised by the Waste Transformation Research Hub.

This session will provide a range of perspectives on the opportunities and challenges of using recycled materials in roads and pavements, with speakers from Local Government NSW (LGNSW), the University of Sydney, Transport for NSW and metropolitan and regional councils. Participants will learn about the latest research to support decision making, published in LGNSW’s Guide and Technical Review on use of recycled materials in roads and pavements, and of the work underway by Transport for NSW.

The session will also reveal the experiences and insights of council engineers in adopting a circular economy approach, including areas requiring further research and attention.
