ACEC 2022
The 3rd Australian Circular Economy Conference brought together current and emerging circular economy leaders in Australia. The conference built upon the success of the 2nd and 1st ACECs and served up a joint program with the launch of the 1st University of Sydney Net Zero Initiative (NZI) Conference. The conference ran from Monday 21 November to Friday 23 November 2022.
The conference explored the progress, innovation, and benefits of a circular economy and digital solutions for Net Zero. It featured the University Research Commercialisation (URC) and highlighted its research-industry engagement on the translation of research into commercial technologies and solutions.
The conference was co-hosted by the Waste Transformation Research Hub and the University of Sydney’s Net Zero Initiative.

ACEC 2020
The 2nd Australian Circular Economy Conference (ACEC) partnered with universities, government, and industry leaders in the Asia-Pacific region to deliberate on the progress, innovation, and benefits of a circular economy. This conference spotlighted the industries and businesses actively using circular economy principles. ACEC 2020 was held virtually, allowing audiences from all around the world to join.
The conference was co-hosted by the Waste Transformation Research Hub, the Sydney Knowledge Hub, APRU Sustainable Waste Management, and NSW Circular.

ACEC 2018
The 1st Australian Circular Economy Conference was held at Mercure Kooindah Waters, Central Coast, 19-20 November 2018.
This conference was organised by the Waste Transformation Research Hub and was supported by the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer, within the NSW Department of Industry. The inaugural conference focused on topics such as:
Technology: State of the art in consumer product design and waste processing technologies
Digital Circular Economy: the three Cs in waste data: clarity, consistency, connectivity
Policy: Circular economy policy and implications on waste prevention, recovery and energy from waste (EfW)
Transitioning: Business infrastructure and the circular economy
